The topic of Halal (and Kosher) practices were done to death (sic) on the recent thread.

This story is about sickening abuse at a slaughterhouse. The animals were not being killed in accordance with any law or code.

Re: Halal cruelty back in the news...
I dont even know where to start on this...

Firstly let me point out the hypocrisy in your own lives. YOU EAT HALAL. If you by Chicken from Tesco, Asda, Sainsburys or Waitrose, You eat Halal.

Chickens are not covered by Animal Welfare guidlines and can be killed in any way which the slaughter house feels is best, Which usually means quickest and cheapest. On the scale of cruelty wringing a birds neck is no different that cutting its head off...

The reason why some of you people care about this story is because its just another way to stick it to the 'Mussies', The irony is that none of these slaughterings caught on film follow Halal guidelines so the Muslims wont be that impressed either.

Regardless, You dont actually care about animal welfare, you just want another reason to bolster your bigoted ideals. You are so transparent its painful.

Secondly, we all know that living without meat is easily done and better for you, there is no debating that anymore so when you eat meant you are having an animal killed for nothing more than your PLEASURE.

Just let that sink in a minute...You are part of the problem of Halal meat, you are part of the problem of all of these guidelines being broken because you demand the death for your pleasure. What kind of person does that?

Last thing. Dont think these guidelines being broken are a rarity. Halal or not, your meat is slaughtered using methods that do not follow guidelines. Partial stunnings, No stunnings. Kicking and punching is the norm. It takes a special kind of wounded soul to be able to treat an Animal in this way and YOU fund it.

As I said previously, 13 out of 19 Slaughter houses that we had checked in the UK in 2012 FAILED substantially in all criteria regarding animal welfare and we had had enough evidence and the means to prosecute at least 30 people. 1 person was charged and did 3 months custodial and the the rest got off with it...they are too valuable.

We also pressured MPs to push a bill through the Commons to make sure that all slaughter houses were fitted with CCTV. They turned it away as to costly....It became a voluntary program.

If you are genuinely disturbed by the footage from the slaughterhouses, there is only one thing you can do....Stop being part of the problem.

Or you can be like our Ukipper posters and pretend that 'Humane' slaughter exists and its all the evil mussies doing it...

Re: Halal cruelty back in the news...
You'll get abuse of the system whether kosher, halal or meat prepared for those who don't think God is some sort of divine health inspector. The important thing is that it is made clear whether buying meat or in restaurants that it is made clear how the animals were killed. The government has been procrastinating about this for some time now, obviously because they font want to offend the sensibilities of rug regarders and red sea pedestrians.
